Guardian Intensive Outpatient Program
Cofinity Health Insurance for Addiction Recovery

Cofinity Health Insurance is a leading regional network, covering individuals and families throughout Michigan and Colorado. Cofinity is known for valuing network quality and stability, a high standard of service excellence and operational flexibility and ease. This regional health insurance provider offers quality healthcare at an affordable price, providing cost-saving solutions including a range of options for out-of-network claims. Fortunately, the services that Guardian IOP provides to men and women of all ages who have been struggling with substance abuse are in-network with Cofinity Health Insurance. This simply means that all recovery-related services are covered in full. If you have been suffering from an addictive disorder of any severity and you are in need of professional addiction treatment, we are available to help. We believe that quality and effective addiction treatment services should be accessible to everyone in need, therefore we have partnered with many major national and regional health insurance providers to make our services as conveniently obtainable as possible.

The Affordable Care Act and In-Network Coverage

Up until recently, mental health concerns and physical health concerns were considered separate. As of 2014, however, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) was signed into law by the Obama administration. The ACA requires most health insurance plans to cover mental health services and substance abuse and addiction treatment. According to MentalHealth.gov, “Medicaid Alternative Benefit Plans also must cover mental health and substance use disorder services. These plans must have coverage of essential health benefits, which include 10 categories of benefits as defined under the health care law. One of those categories is mental health and substance use disorder services. Another is rehabilitative and habilitative services. Additionally, these plans must comply with mental health and substance use parity requirements, as set forth in MHPAEA, meaning coverage for mental health and substance abuse services generally cannot be more restrictive than coverage for medical and surgical services.” Essentially, this means that recovery-related services like those offered by Guardian IOP must be covered by major health insurance providers like Cofinity.

Covering the Cost of Addiction Treatment

We understand that covering the cost of addiction treatment might seem overwhelming at first, and a lack of knowledge regarding available resources does drive many away from seeking the professional clinical care that they so desperately need and deserve. At Guardian IOP one of our main priorities is ensuring that quality care is easily accessible. In order to ensure this we work very closely with many major insurance providers like Cofinity Health Insurance. However, we also understand that individuals who have been grappling with substance abuse for an extended period of time rarely have the wherewithal to keep up with health insurance payments or keep their finances in order. For this reason, we work closely with individuals who are underinsured or uninsured to come up with viable coverage alternatives. Do not let financial concerns prevent you from receiving the help you need – reach out to us today and we will do everything in our power to get you started on your personal recovery journey as quickly as possible.

Our Drug & Alcohol Treatment Services Include

Services Covered by Cofinity

Recovery-related services that we offer – and that are covered in full by Cofinity Health Insurance – include:

  • In-depth clinical and medical assessments – It is important that clinical and medical assessments take place throughout the recovery process to ensure that progress is being made and that the individual is getting as much as possible out of his or her treatment experience. Upon admission to Guardian IOP each client undergoes an in-depth evaluation to determine which treatment services are going to be the most effective, and whether or not any additional services are necessary.
  • Individual therapy sessions – Individual therapy sessions take place at least once a week, and allow clients to further explore and address individual challenges and underlying issues. Clients are able to continue on with individual therapy sessions even after graduating from our IOP program as part of continuing care.
  • Group therapy sessions – Group therapy sessions take place every time the IOP groups meet, and cover a range of recovery-related topics. Group therapy sessions allow clients the opportunity to offer peer support and further hone their communication skills. Group therapy is gender and age-specific, providing a safe, supportive and comfortable environment in which clients can truly open up.
  • Family therapy and other family-oriented treatment services – Family therapy is important to long-term sobriety. We offer in-person, over-the-phone or virtual family therapy sessions in order to restore healthy family functioning and help family members prepare for the road ahead.
  • A wide range of proven therapeutic techniques – Some of the therapeutic techniques we employ include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization, equine therapy, experiential therapy, mindfulness meditation and art therapy.

  • Relapse prevention training – Relapse prevention training is crucial to the maintenance of sobriety. We help our clients identify their personal relapse triggers and work through these triggers with healthy coping mechanisms.
  • Vocational training – We assist our clients in finding an appropriate job and maintaining this job.
  • Case management services – Every client is paired up with a case manager, who helps them along in the recovery process and serves as a main point of contact with family members and other loved ones.
  • Thorough and personalized aftercare planning – Aftercare is crucial to long-term sobriety. Our case managers help clients develop a viable and personalized plan for continuing care. This often looks like a continuation of individual therapy and 12 step program immersion.

Our Simple and Straightforward Admissions Process

At Guardian IOP our admissions process is simple and straightforward in order to alleviate the stress that our clients and their loved ones are likely to feel at this point in the recovery process. As soon as you give us a call we conduct a brief pre-assessment which helps our clinical team determine which level of clinical care and which personalized recovery services best suit you and your personal requirements. We ask a series of non-invasive personal questions, including things like, “When did you start using chemical substances?” “Do you have a personal history of any dual diagnosis mental health disorder?” “Have you previously participated in a higher level of clinical care?” Once we determine that Guardian IOP is right for you we conduct a free, no obligation insurance benefit check. This entire process takes place in a matter of minutes, and once it is complete we set to work setting a date and a time for intake.
